    Hi!

I really like Edin theme ?? I’m playing with options and there is only one point that disappoints me: when using portfolio shorcodes in a page to show portfolio entries in a category, I see that the result page is not responsive. The number of columns is fixed, and it doesn’t matter the screen size of the device used for the visualization. Other themes, like Illustratr, doesn’t have this behaviour, i.e., entries with portfolio shortcodes are also responsive. I fact, Edin theme is tagged as responsive so … Is any non standard option to make portfolio shortocodes to generate responsive pages? Or maybe is there another option to create a page with a grid of posts/pages belonging to a category?

    Thanks in advance, regards,

    Andrew

  • I can replicate what you describe on my Edin test site, and will ask our developers to have a look. We’ll keep you posted here.

Hi there – here is some CSS you can add to your site to make the portfolio shortcode output responsive:

We’re also looking into getting this added to Jetpack so this display is the default in any theme when you use the portfolio shortcode.

Don’t edit the theme files directly, otherwise your changes will be overwritten every time the theme is updated to the latest version.

An easy way to add custom CSS is to install the Jetpack plugin and activate the Custom CSS module. You’ll then add your custom CSS in the new stylesheet editor that’ll appear in your dashboard, under Appearance > Edit CSS.

As alternatives, you could either install a standalone custom CSS plugin, or create a child theme.

I’m currently a free user of wordpress.com, so I’ll wait for Jetpack update on wordpress.com ?? Anyway, I don’t understand the needle for the Jetcpack to include any aditional css, because there are themes (like Illustratr) that already handle portfolio shortcodes in a correct responsive way …

    Thanks for your response, regards,

Oh, I didn’t realize you were hosted on WoredPress.com – the fix is already in place there, no extra CSS needed. ??

Right. However, our developers want to implement a solution that will work with any self-hosted theme running Jetpack portfolios, rather than implement one-off fixes. ??
