• Hi there,

We used the Virtue theme for our page, but with a recent update, the theme options menu is missing. How can I get it back? I can’t edit the slider anywhere.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

First thing I recommend is deactivating plugins one by one and testing the theme options when the plugins are OFF.

Be sure to also clear your cache after making each change.

Let me know if you find anything.

Thanks for your help, Kevin. This didn’t work, I’m afraid. The menu is completely gone. I’m seeing (in the left-hand menu) Dashboard, posts, media, pages, comments, ninja forms, appearance, plugins, users, tools, settings, SEO, and Maps. NO Theme Options anywhere, even when cache is cleared and plugins are deactivated.

Odd, I’m not sure why your theme options may not be displaying. Do you still have the Kadence Toolkit installed and active on your site?

I remember installing it, but I don’t see it now. However, when I try to reinstall, it gives me an error, saying “Installation failed. Directory already exists.”

    Hi @aiyoonee,
So when you navigate to Plugins from your admin panel you do not see the kadence toolkit listed there, is that correct? Have you tried installing a fresh download of the theme?

    @onlineplus,
In the future please start a new thread. You can download elementor from here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/elementor/

Have you tried deactivating other plugins to test if any are conflicting?

Theme version 3.2.6. Yes, I have tried deactivating all plugins. No change.

I just re-read one of your previous responses. The theme option would be listed in the Appearance tab from your WordPress dashboard. What options do you see when you open that tab? Also, you did not answer if the kadence toolkit is listed in your plugins?

@hannahritner Under appearance tab, I see Themes, customize, widgets, menus, install plugins, and editor (the usual ones). I have looked everyone in all menus, but no theme options anywhere. The Kadence toolkit is not listed as a plugin, but I remember installing it at one time (when I set the website up). When I search for the toolkit in the plugin directory, there is an “install now” button (i.e. the plugin does not show as already installed). When I click it, I get an error message: “Installation failed: Destination folder already exists.” The theme options were there at some point because I set up the website with a slider etc, and I remember adjusting that from the theme options. But at some point, it disappeared.

    Hey,

Something is wrong within your that’s keeping the plugin from working properly. You need to delete the plugin folder from wp-content> plugins using FTP. If you don’t know how to use FTP, I suggest contacting your host to see if they can delete it for you.

    Hi Kevin,

I just connected to the site via SFTP and saw that the virtue-toolkit folder was there in the plugins. I renamed it virtue-toolkit-old and then tried reinstalling the plugin again. This time, the installation worked, but when I clicked “Activate,” I got the following message: “The plugin does not have a valid header.”

Nevermind! I tried the whole thing one more time, and this time it worked. Now I see the theme options. Thank you for your help!
