Hi – just how did you get the slider working? I just can’t and all teh documentation has been pulled – which is a bit odd.

    To get the slider:
    1. Go to Dashboard -> Pages -> Add New
    2. Give it a title -> on the right side, there is a “Page Attributes” -> Template -> Select “Front Page” -> Publish
    3. Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading -> Select “A static page (select below)” -> then select the page you have just created in step 2
    4. Go to Dashboard -> Post -> Add New ->
Create a post with a title, your images and anything you want like normal.
-> on the right side, there is a “Location” -> select “Featured” -> Publish
The new post will show up in the slider. To put it in recent articles, change to “Primary”. To put it in more articles, change to “Secondary”.
You HAVE to update them manually every time.

Thanks for that – I think I was having a bad hair day and couldn’t see for looking – blindingly obvious when it’s pointed out…

    Hey ShiLing Star

I noticed that you ended up being the one doing the assisting in this post rather than being assisted, so I’m here to help with your original question if you still need it.

When you add Pages to a given menu you will notice that you can drag and drop them up and down to change the order. If you drag a page to the right, it will shift into an indented slot, kind of like pressing tab on a keyboard. You have now created a secondary option on your menu which can be viewed by scrolling over the menu option listed above.

So just to clarify, if my menu included fitness, sports, outdoor, and indoor sections, and I wanted to create a scroll down menu for the sports section, my page bars in the menu section of the wordpress theme would look like this:

    Fitness
    Sports
    Football
    Basketball
    Baseball
    Outdoor
    Indoor

    Hope this helps

    That didnt translate visually:

    Fitness
    Sports
    Football (tabbed right)
    Basketball (tabbed right)
    Baseball (tabbed right)
    Outdoor
    Indoor

Is there a way to speedup primary|secondary themes?

They are slower on my hosted wordpress site than on the wordpress.com site.

    Cheers.
