Theme rendered wrong in IE and footer problems

  • Hello, I hope someone can help me. I created a website using the Vintage Stripes 1.0 by Padd IT Solutions theme located at https://www.cherishedsolutionsllc.com

    I wanted a static page as my home page and the only way I could figure out how to do this was by creating a page with no name (left it blank) and then assigned it to be the front page display under the “reading” settings.

    In Firefox my site appears fine, but in IE 8 my untitled page shows up as a tab across the top of the site. I didn’t name the page because I didn’t want two “Home” page tabs showing up.

    Also, I have tried to figure out how to edit the footer so I can put my business contact info but am having zero luck. The footer.php page has a bunch of nonsense but it renders a smiley face on the site. Any help here would be greatly appreciated too.
