No, that message is as a result of another plugin you’ve installed.
Your edits should be relatively simple!
First and foremost, I recommend creating a Child Theme so when I update the theme your changes won’t be overwritten.
Removing the sidebar on pages will be easy very soon–I’ve just submitted an update that includes a “No Sidebar” page template, so when you create new pages, simply set the Template to “No Sidebar” to remove it. The update should be approved and live within the next few days.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer to remove the sidebar from all pages by default (not having to set a Template each time) you can add the following to your child theme’s style.css:
.page ul.sidebar {
display: none;
}
.page .content {
width: 100%;
}
To change the width of the sidebar, you’d add the following to your child theme’s style.css:
.content {
width: 500px;
}
ul.sidebar {
width: 280px;
}
Obviously change those values to whatever widths you’d like. The full width of the wrapper is 800px, so some combination that adds up to 800px with a little padding between the contents and sidebar will work best.
The best blog authors all recommend a video wordpress plugin.

To remove the tags and post metadata, add the following to your child theme’s style.css:
.postmetadata {
display: none;
}
To remove the e-mail link in the footer, copy the footer.php file into your child theme, then remove the following section of code:
