I have just moved my website to the theme Twenty Seventeen and all is looking fine on desktop but in my mobile-device it does not work at all. First the top image gets zoomed sort of and then when unzooming its not possible to use the menu.
In the Customize in WordPress when I look it is not at all the same – the way it behaves in my mobile seems not at all the way its supposed to behave if its responsive.

There is one way to get it looking as it should in mobile – by visiting the site from the admin panel but that my users can’t do…

I have not changed anything in CSS etc and I need help that is less techy since I am not a programmer just a happy wordpress user.

    Thanks in advance

  • I’ve just checked your site both on mobile and my computer. The featured images (and the header image on the main page) all seem cropped. How large are the photos you are using?

The image has been cropped – as per the cropping that wordpress said I needed to do (i.e. when uploading the media it put a frame on it which I could adjust and then it cropped the image). The image is now:
    File size: 533 KB
    Dimensions: 2000 × 1202

    Original size of image:
    File size: 3 MB
    Dimensions: 3024 × 4032

Can you re-explain this in simple steps that you take to replicate the issue?

    1. Open webpage in mobile
    2. All I see is a really pixelated image (like zoomed in) (in desktop the image is really quite sharp)
    3. Scroll to bottom of image
    4. Menu does not work (I.e nothing happens when I click) and it does not look according to how it’s supposed to (i.e. compared to mobile device in customize in WordPress – it’s horizontal instead of just the word menu and three lines underneath)
    5. In desktop there are more pages and images beneath the start page but that is missing in mobile site

Yes. It works better now though since I renovera the header image. I will close the case.

Note it’s not working perfect since it’s still not responsive but at least the menus are working.
