• I’m really hoping someone with more experience and familiarity with WP Themes can help! ??

    I’m trying to find a theme (paid or free) that is similar to this site:

    https://www.knoxvillefinehomes.com/

    I’ve been searching for days, and can’t seem to find the right one.

    Specifically, I need a theme that has:

    1. Vertical Main Navigation
    2. Large Image Slider (I’d prefer to do this with a plugin like Revolution Slider, but I’m thinking that, with the vertical nav, I need something more integrated?)
    3. Compatibility with IDX Feeds (Real Estate Listing Feed) and dxIDXpress plugin
    4. Hopefully clean enough CSS and/or enough customization options, that I have decent control over the colors of the site.

    I’ve been searching like crazy, and haven’t found anything that’s quite right. The closet I’ve found is the EstateAgent theme by SMThemes, but either I don’t have enough CSS to understand their code, or the code is written really funky and difficult to modify. (Probably my fault. lol!)

    Here’s my development site so far: https://viewmywebsitedraft.com/phares1/

    Any and all suggestions of themes – paid themes or unpaid themes – are welcomed! Please help!!!

    Thank you!

  • Hi,

    We have created a customizable theme:

    https://wpl28.realtyna.com

    The colors and style is in the CSS file which you will have independent access (from the updatable core).

    About IDX, we have important question. Are you looking for Organic or just iframe?

    You can check the following charts:

    @realtyna,

    Thank you for the fast reply!

    You have a nice looking theme. However, it doesn’t seem to have the vertical navigation, which is essential to the site I’m attempting to build. ??

    In answer to your question, I’m hoping to avoid iframing as much as possible. I’m still researching IDX plugins. I’m looking at the dsIDXpress, mainly because it seems to be the most popular. But I’m also considering Optima-Express. However, the theme is the first concern.

    Thanks again for your reply.

    Thank you for your feedback. About the theme I wish you successful search ?? At the end of the day, you may customize one and if you did it based on our plug-in, please let us know to introduce it to our clients.

    Our plug-in have direct and Organic MLS Integration. This means when your client have access to the RETS feed from his provider, you can populate the data in your own database and without paying monthly fees.

    Please check this article about the comparison between Organic MLS Integration and IDX Middle Man providers.

    Regards

    As far as theme’s go, you will not find one that’s more customizable than Montezuma. What’s different about Montezuma than just about every theme out there is that instead of option pages which have a limited set of options, you control the entire structure of your site by modifying virtual templates. You also have access to a complete set of virtual CSS files. So if you have a strong background in HTML and CSS, you will want to check out this theme. By default, the theme has a horizontal navigation menu, but you can easily remove the menu from the header sub template, add a sidebar to the left, add a custom menu widget, and style it with some CSS. Browse through some of the sites on the showcase thread on the BytesForAll forum to get an idea as to how customizable the theme is.

    @crouchingbruin,

    Thanks for the reply. Your theme looks nice. I’m really looking for something with either a native vertical menu, or an easily attainable one. I can make simple changes to CSS, like changing colors and font sizes, but if I had a strong background in CSS & HTML, this probably wouldn’t be such an issue in the first place. ??

    Thanks for the suggestion though!

    UPDATE: I made (yet another!) pass through the code of the example site, and found it’s a child theme of TwentyTwelve!!

    (My kudos and congratulations to the developers, whoever you are!)

    So I’m going to move to that forum, and see if I can get some help there.

    However, I’m going to leave this thread open for a few days, to see if there are any themes out there that are similar, so I don’t have to do so much editing to get a similar result to my original example site.
