@scottr126: Do not edit the Twenty Fourteen theme. It is the current default WordPress theme and having access to an original, unedited, copy of the theme is vital in many situations. First create a child theme for your changes. Or install a custom CSS plugin.

esmi, the only thing I did was I added .post-thumbnail{display:none;} at the end of the style sheet and that fixed my random logo issue.

I however am still looking for a way to remove the descriptions for the category pages.

When an update to Twenty Fourteen comes out you will lose your fix. Try the 2 links that Esmi posted they can really help you find a supportable way to keep your CSS changes intact.

I only want the product picture and title to show up on this page.
