  • Likely, but before you make any modifications, you need to create a Child Theme
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Child_Themes

This is not WP specific, the only thing WP specific is that you have to make adjustments to a child theme.

All the web elements there, not just the menu, could be used in TwentyTwelve or any other themes, it’s just a matter of CSS work.

And since TwentyTwelve is reponsive and mobile first, this makes it VERY difficult to customize the look of nav menu ( it’s doable but very difficult ) not even to mention that it has IE specific CSS for menu thing.

Thank you both for your answers.

I know this might sound like a strange question, but I don’t have much experience on this and I decided to use this theme because it has many options to work with (I found out it was harder to work with a premium theme, I couldn’t get to what I want to achieve with the website).

My goal was to customize the website through a child theme, but using this kind of elements.

Paulwpxp, do you suggest other theme so I can get better results with customizing the website?

You have to make the decision first, if you want a fixed width website or a responsive one. A fixed width one is not as difficult to work with compared to a responsive one, but people would prefer a responsive one these days.

do you suggest other theme so I can get better results with customizing the website?

It’s hard to say which theme is better or easier to work with than others, but I would go with a theme that’s built for customizing like _S theme
