    Hi Thomas,
    Itching to show you what we’ve done with Forge for this project, but know that plenty new additions are slated for the update and want to see if any news on when the upcoming update will be due for release?

    days or weeks? would help ??

    Hey there amigo,

    Your timing couldn’t have been better. Today is the day I am going to release WP-Forge for beta testing!!! After testing it goes to www.ads-software.com for review.

    I will be making the announcement later today. Going to put a video together first and go over everything.

    Go to my site and send me an email and I will shoot you over a copy for testing.

    Would like to see (or suggest having) some sort of “transition” docs for folks trying to move from 5.x to 6.x? Think that’s possible?

    That is possible, however everyone needs to understand that Foundation was basically rewritten from the ground up, so everything has changed and those changes are documented on the Foundation site

    What concerned me most were the menus. I was able to maintain the menu look and feel for both the top-bar and off-canvas as well as the options in the customizer.

    There is the changelog.txt file that outlines any and all changes I have made for this update.

    Other than that, users need to review the foundation site for a list of any and all changes that were made as well as how to implement things such as reveal, orbit, tabs and so on.

    Fair enough. Plus of course Foundation still seems to be in a bit of a mercurial state anyway – lots of updates already on the 6.x version.

    In regards to changes to the theme, there are few minor css styles that were added that is all.

    Really, the major changes were to Foundation. Personally, I think they should have left everything alone and just keep making minor adjustments here and there.

    Overall I think it came out OK. My main concern is how the new top-bar and off-canvas will affect sites using WP-Forge as well as child themes. I’ve tried to keep it as close to 5.x as possible and I think I did a good job of it, however you never know.
