    Hi,

About the recent BlueGray theme update:

Main reason for last update is to improve accessibility and better support for screen readers.

Because of this I had to change the CSS of main navigation. Mainly the CSS of submenu and mobile menu.

Those changes might have broken some of your CSS customizations, I’m sorry for that. If you want help to fix it again please open a topic in support forum.

For users with a child theme, I have updated file header. Added a skip-to-content link and changed the div with class “mobile-nav-toggle” into a button.

For users with a child theme, I have updated file header. Added a skip-to-content link and changed the div with class “mobile-nav-toggle” into a button.

Forgot to mention that I’ve also added a wrapper with class “nav-head-container” around navigation. In previous theme version the navigation was full width and the ul had a max-width.

    Hi there.
Sadly this recent update has introduced a problem in my site. Previously, as I increased the width of the browser window, all parts of the site main menu, header image, homepage middle etc – stretched with it correctly. Since this upgrade the div containing the main menu stops at a fixed maximum width (1200px ?) while the other elements continue to stretch horizontally.

    Hope you can help.

    Chris.

Sorry – forgot to say I’m using a child theme.

    Hi Chris,

    Very sorry to hear.
It’s caused by the new wrapper/container called nav-head-container that I’ve added around the menu. So around the nav-head div. I had to do it.

In previous version the nav-head ul had a max-width of 1160px. I have removed the width from that ul, because of the newly added wrapper/container. Now the nav-head itself has a max-with of 1160 px.

If you give me the URL of your site I can help you to fix it again.

    Hi Chris,

Are you gonna update file header of your child theme?
With the extra container around nav, the skip-to-content link and the mobile nav button? All three changes are improvements.

Latest version of file can be found here.

If you are not able to do it, I can help you with it.

I assumed that when I updated a theme from the Dashboard all necessary updates would be applied – I didn’t realise it was necessary to update files individually.

    Hi Chris,

Yes, you must update changed files from your child theme individually.

But if you send me your child theme or the header file, I will add the relevant changes for you. If you agree with this, can I reach you via the Secretary email that is listed at the contact page of this wensite?

Another theme update today, with mostly accessibility fixes:

    – Fix: submenu in IE11
    – Fix: submenu in older iOS version
    – Fix: image caption
    – Updated support for screen readers

    Enjoy!
