theme uploading via ftp question
-
I am learning as I go along so I realize this may be very basic. I used Filezilla and TierraNet (my web host) tech support ultimately helped me get WordPress on my site – and it now is! (I’m used to wordpress.com and so I’m trying to figure out working with www.ads-software.com without much web experience.) I’m looking at different themes online outside of those offered directly by wordpress which seem like those would be easier to install but anyway… I’m reading this tutorial on installing a theme (wordpress.thelinuxpenguin.com) and it says “upload the complete folder of your template to your WP installation into the wp-content/themes folder. … best way to to this is via FTP using an FTP client.”
I suppose I don’t entirely understand Filezilla but I am not sure how to make a new file or folder to go in the wp themes folder via Filezilla.
And when they say “upload the complete folder” do I copy the contents or just drag it over there (which I thought read that somewhere)?
This may be very basic but I appreciate the help!
Thanks.
