Theme with Galleries for a photographer?

  • Hi there…I am a complete novice with WP as i normally build my web site in Front Page. I understand that WP is fairly easy to use and ideal for photographers. I have installed ok on my hosting server and would now like to apply some photo galleries, so would someone be able to suggest a suitable theme at all or would an addon of some sort be better?

    To be totally honest, i feel like i’m going round in circles! I have some knowledge of html etc (but normally don’t do any programming) but despite reading an awful lot of tutorials i’m still confused (an age thing i think LOL) I understand how the blog works but i really want the site to showcase my photography, is WP the right programme for me?

    Any advice greatly appreciated :O)

  • IF you go to plug ins and search for photo gallery, it will give you numerous plug ins you can use with WP. Some are better than others. But being new to this as well…I discovered the multitude of plug ins that can do just about anything you want. And most are fairly easy to use. You can purchase on line photo gallery templates as well that you can upload and use..but try the plug in route first.

    Cheers for that. and yes, FP is a bit dated which is why i was looking at WP.

    I use Web Gallery Creator to create my html pages with photos on, , it also does a slideshow. Will i be able to use the pages I created in my proposed WP site?

    Well, i think i’ve answered my own question LOL…I’ve worked out how to sort my htm pages and got the links to workk as well.

    Just a few other bits to sort and then i could be progressing.
