Theme won't show in browser

    I am a wp newby. my apologies in advance. I am using a Theme I purchased – it appears to be properly installed in my wp admin dashboard, but when I view my url in my browser, I get the following error message:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in /home/content/94/7520194/html/index.php on line 1

    I uploaded the entire theme.zip using the Install Themes/upload feature. It appears like normal in my Manage Themes window as the Current Theme. Thank you for any help you can provide.

    Temp try another free wp theme to see if its an issue with the bought theme
