Theme/Menu problems on cloned site

    I’m having some issues with a newly cloned site where I don’t seem to be able to create a new menu item and have it successfully save when using a particular theme. The icon just spins and spins and ultimately when I leave or refresh the page, the item is saved as a draft/orphan (I see the “changes will not be saved” message also).

    Note that this site was created as a clone from the main ID=1 site. The other site(s) were either manually created or cloned from a non ID=1 site.

    It did take me multiple attempts to clone the site with incremental memory & time limit increases, but there were no error messages with the final cloning and the log seems complete.

    I’m only having the issue using one particular theme, which was the active theme when the site was cloned. If I reset the theme to twenty-sixteen, it’s fine. BUT, menu creation works properly on the other network sites using the same theme (VG Optima).

    If you deactivate and reactivate the VG Optima theme on the cloned site does that help anything? Or same results?

    Have you checked your browser inspector for any JS errors before and after you try to create the menu item (right-click > inspect > console). That might provide additional clues. Otherwise it’s really hard to say.

    I have deactivated and reactivated the theme on the cloned site – same results.

    I just checked for JS errors. I do see an error:
