themes don′t appear as they should in preview mode

    I′ve just been looking through themes and whenever I use ′preview′ or live previewit doesn`t appear to look anything like the thumbnail for that theme suggests it will.

    To be specific the themes I′ve been looking at are showing a vertical list of posts without images instead of a horizontal list of thumbnails as they should.

    Possible bug to do with image displaying, is this at my end or are other users having the same issue?

  • Quite often there is a bit of setup required to get a theme looking the thumbnail. For instance, you may need to add a featured image to your posts to get theme to appear.

    yeah, i guess I just need to play around with each theme a bit.

    Thing is though, I’m changing my theme so I already have content including things like featured image so I’m not sure what’s going on.

    Another thing, (or should i ask this as a separate topic?) How can I play around with a theme and make major changes to my website while keeping the current version live. The only way I seem to be able to find to start really adapting my website to a new theme is to publish it which of course is an issue if I get visitors during this time.
