themes-new to wordpress

Hi All,

I am brand spankin new to wordpress migrating over from xanga. I need help in changing the theme of my wordpress page.

I looked under admin-in my dashboard and there weren’t many to choose from. I have been to multiple sites and have seen that there were options to have different layouts (there was a distinction between those that were free and premium- I am a free member currently)

After looking I kept seeing instructions for 2.3 and not 2.7.

I came to www.ads-software.com and to my surprise found ALOT of layouts but I don’t know how to get them on my page.

Can someone help me?
