• I set up my hosting through Big Scoots and chose a random theme, with the intent of buying a theme once I got everything set up.

I purchased Foodie Pro by Feast, but cannot get my themes to activate on my site. I have installed the genesis framework, and it says active but my site is still ugly. Even when I view live preview it does not show the correct theme.

I then have tried the free wordpress themes, and they will properly show me the live preview, but once i activate them they do nothing to change the appearance of my site.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

Foodie Pro by Feast is a Genesis child theme. It means genesis is the parent theme.
You only need to add Genesis (without activating it) and Foodie to your website.

The only theme activated must be Foodie.

In short, Foodie will go and search what it needs to work on genesis.

    Hope it will help you.

To add to what Sébastien said…

Note that most themes will need some form of configuration to be done after activation… before you’ll see anything close to their beautiful demos!

That’s not it. I have completely deleted genesis and foodie multiple times. Even with both of them deleted, it will not change to a free wordpress theme.

And did you try to have both theme available but only Foodie activated ?
As @gappiah said, it can have a wizard to setup the theme.

In all case, you’re in the WordPress support and Foodie is a premium theme we do not know. As a premium user you paid for help, so you should contact their support, and they will help you to solve your issue.

What do you mean by configuration? Mine still looks exactly like the theme I chose when I first set up my wordpress following from Big Scoots. Nothing has appeared to change. I cannot even view the live demos in wordpress. It shows me the original theme rather than the demo theme.

Sebastien, yes. After you suggested that I completely deleted it all again and installed both, being sure to only activate foodie.

It’s not just a genesis/foodie problem. It does not allow me to live demo or activate ANY theme.

I contacted feast 4 days ago when this problem began. They do not support the theme I purchase. I went to their tutorials page and walked through one of those, but I’m thinking maybe I messed something up in my wordpress
    rather than fixing the problem.

I have reached out to the blog course, the theme creator, the hosting site, literally everybody I can think of. I’ve been working on trying to figure this out for 4 days

As your host advertises themselves as a “full managed WordPress host”, you might ask them if their management tools have anything to do with this.
