Themes Not Showing In Dashboard

All aspect of my wp blog and dashboard are working fine for the exception of the themes showing in the themes area of my dashboard. I have searched the forum for other similar post and found some but do not answer my problem. I wish to edit my theme but cannot without it showing in the theme area. Any sugestions.
