• My website hosts installed wordpress 2.5 for me today. Everything works great as far as I can tell.
    My problem is this- I downloaded and installed wordpress themes. They are in the correct folder on my site (wp-content/themes) the folder is the correct one to have uploaded to my site, in other words it is not a theme inside of a similarly named folder.
    So, I go to the admin area to switch from the default theme to a new theme but the only themes to choose from are the classic and default. The newly downloaded themes are not even showing up as a choice.

    Prior to posting here I have done the following;
    1- delete it and upload it to the site again-no luck
    2- try other themes-no luck
    3- generate my own theme, upload that- no luck
    4- contact the people at my web hosting in case it was a mistake on their part- my super knows-everything website guy was confused too.

    They simply don’t show up. I can switch between the 2 themes that came with wordpress(default and classic) but cannot seem to get any other themes to show up even though they are very clearly in the folder sitting right there.

    The blog is at https://www.ConceptJamaica.com/cjblog/

    Any advice?
    Thanks in advance!

  • I wish I could help but, I am here looking for solutions. It helps (in a weird way) to know its not just me. I did the exact same things you did short of contacting the site. I came here first.

    Are you uploading the theme directory to –www.ConceptJamaica.com/cjblog/wp-content/themes directory
    it looks like it was installed to a subdirectory.
    Does this help? also for any theme you must upload the unpacked directory and all the files in it.

    Was /cjblog the level at which wordpress was installed?

    I have 2.5 installed on local server with mamp –put themes in normal directory wp-content/themes themes don’t show up at all –unresolved for me as well!!

    Hey All,

    I got one new theme installed, but can’t get any more. I can’t find any way to debug this either.
