• Hey,

I’ve installed WordPress several times with different versions and I have a problem with themes that i want to install.
It starts on the preview, the theme doesn’t look like what it was expected.
    Example :
    Expected > https://puu.sh/A5P1f/ea229cf434.jpg
What I get in the preview > https://puu.sh/A5OPC/bada738841.png
What I get once the theme is installed and activated > https://puu.sh/A5OYJ/0c2c9fa459.png

    I’ve tried many things :
    Update linux server
    Clear the cache
    Reboot the server
    Use another version of wordpress
    Use another language
Try with another theme (for some themes part of the theme is the same as it’s expected but not all the page)
Change permissions in the ftp (777 temp’)

But as you can see I’m coming to get some help haha

    Well, thank you !

You are expecting a theme to look like its demo. That just doesn’t happen out of the box. Many themes do have demo content available; it’s best to look in their readme files for information on where you can get that content. In general, the demo you see is carefully built on the theme, but it’s up to you to provide content. The demo shows you what *can* be done. The theme is your tool to do it. It’s like showing you a hammer and a house. A house is a demo of things you can do with a hammer, but when you buy a hammer, there’s no house in the box.

Yes, but is it normal that the preview doesn’t change between two totally different themes ?
Before having this issue the themes were working perfectly fine, and a same theme was working well in the preview and once installed but now, it’s the same page that the one of my screens…

When you click on a different theme for a preview, the preview should change.

You were right, and I’ve found a plugin that import all the data of the demo, then I just have to modify and adjust. So, thank you.

Actually, if you brought a theme from themeforest or other companies, the authors will also provide the demo version to upload to wordpress. The file is in xml.
