[Themify] Create a child theme

Greetings,

I am using the Themify version 1.6.3. I have been trying to create a child theme following both the Themify’s own guide (https://duckduckgo.com/?q=themify+child+theme&t=ffab&atb=v35-2&ia=web) and the WordPress Codex (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Child_Themes).

I tried creating the child theme in desktop and also in the FTP panel. However I have been unable to get it working following either guide and was once locked out of my site’s control panel. I wonder if the Themify’s guide is currently up to date and whether I should somehow modify the code displayed in WP codex?

In short, I need a working piece of code to copy to my Themify child theme’s style.css file and another one to functions.php file.
