There are better ways to do this..

  • I just removed over 30,000 ip addresses stored by this plugin in the database. Most of them where duplicates. So many it was slowing down the dashboard. Not sure why or how this happened, but the plugin has been removed & replaced with something more efficient.

    Please update the plugin to version 4.02 and you will not have an issue with duplicate entries.

    WordFence (free or premium). It’s a security plugin, but also gives you the ability to block by IP address (manually, free vs.) or by country (premium), among other things. I was able to remove two or three different plugins once this was installed.

    Although, this plugin’s author said two months ago that the problem has been fixed.
