    Hello,

When activating the plugin I get the WordPress critical error and this in the site error log: PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare seopress_return_settings() (previously declared in /home/mysitename.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-seopress/src/Thirds/MainWP/MainWPFunctions.php:15) in /home/mysitename.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-seopress/inc/functions/mainwp-functions.php on line 14

The server is running php 7.4 and openlitespeed web server.

  • I can confirm this. Just updated plugin and same fatal error occurred. Php 8.1 and Litespeed Enterprise.

    The same issue…

    OK.

7.5.0.2 version solved this issue – thanks for quick reaction

This error appears to be occuring because the plugin is looking to load a php file that doesn’t exist in the plugin directory:

    /htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wp-seopress/inc/functions/mainwp-functions.php

I fixed the fatal error by commenting out line 126:

    require_once dirname(__FILE__) . '/inc/functions/mainwp-functions.php';

    Hi,

we are deeply sorry for this trouble.

We have quickly solved the issue by providing a hotfix.

Please update to version 7.5.0.3 to solve this.

If necessary use a SFTP client then go to wp-content/plugins and delete wp-seopress directory.

Or the recovery mode from the email notification link.

Then go back to your WP admin to add again the plugin.

Let us know if it still doesn’t work as expected.

    Thx

All my sites are using SEOPRESS down because your plugin, this type of problem happened before in the past. You didn’t test your plugin carefully before release the update to your clients.
