    Hi,

    I have just had a new review submitted which is shown on the cusrev.com site but failed to make it into my shop. I received an email saying:
    “Hello,

    There is an issue posting review data to your shop. Make sure that Customer Review Plugin is updated and works correctly.

    Technical details:
    Error: timeout of 20000ms exceeded

    Best regards,
    Customer Reviews Plugin.

    My site is fine and running latest versions including Version 3.84 of this plugin.

    1) How can I get to the bottom of the problem?

    2) How can I manually get the process to run again so that the review is processed?

    Hi,

    Just had another review which was not passed onto my website. See email content below. As requested in your post, Here is a screenshot of the Diagnostics page:

    I have since had another review come through correctly.

    Any chance you can provide a manual method to send the review through again for failures, or perhaps automatically try again after a few hours?

    I am happy to work with you to test and get to the bottom of the problem if that helps?

    Hi,

    I have had another review failure this morning ?? and it was a really good review.

    I can’t afford to keep losing my reviews – please can you address this problem urgently.

    I appreciate this is a free plugin but would be happy to pay for a paid Pro version to help fund your development costs.

    PS. This may be a red herring but both recent failures included emojis within the review text – I hope this clue may help you…

    It could be that your database charset does not support storing emojis. Please refer to this thread for more information: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/error-message-and-no-review-if-there-are-emoticons/

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply and the update to the plugin. I have immediately upgraded so as to hopefully resolve this issue and will feedback in due course.

    I have looked at the other thread you have linked and I have no idea at the moment what charset is used in my database. I will investigate this and hopefully upgrade it if possible/necessary.

    Do you know if this an easy thing to do?

    Finally, is there any way I can manually add the missing reviews now?

    UPDATE:

    I have today received another review that included an emoji and this review was correctly automatically delivered to my store without error and INCLUDING the emoji.

    I have not had time to investigate or change my WordPress database version so whatever you did in the recent update has actually fixed the problem properly and not just removed the emoji, which is of course much better!

    Further UPDATE:

    Review email received today (NO emojis) and I got an Error email saying “Unknown response from the server” but then immediately afterwards I got a 3rd email of the same review which was successfully passed to my website.

    Hi,

    Yes I have received about 4 reviews since, without emojis and without any error emails or other problems.

    Ok, that’s good news.

    Hi,
    Issue is not resolved for me.
    Main part of the reviews are correctly imported on my website, but some of them created problem. I have 69 reviews on my website, and 74 on Cusrev website.
    Is there a way to import the missing reviews ?
