There is no way you should not have this plugin

So many other users have said it – its a life saving mechanism. I have a release candidate version of a plugin, working great, and the final version precipitated a disaster at the editor level. If you dont want to disable the plugin until a possible fix, this this the best way to handle it. I know i could search and find the version myself, but the amount of work this saved was… well… pretty dang awesome.
