  • I activated the Transnational mode, and I got the following error message;

    Transitional mode activated! However, there was an error when checking the AMP validity for your site. URL validation failed due to the AMP validation request not returning JSON data. This may be due to a PHP fatal error occurring. Please check your server PHP error logs; to do this you may need to enable WP_DEBUG_LOG. If you are stuck, please search the support forum for possible related topics, or otherwise start a new support topic including the error message, the URL to your site, and your active theme/plugins. Please include your Site Health Info.

    Not yet. Considering the aforementioned plugin isn’t even installed in my WordPress.

    Deactivating plugins one-by-one and then re-checking for the validation problem each time is a great way to try to isolate the problem.

    I’ve never used the WP Chat App plugin, no. I’m not sure why it would be causing problems, but we’ll try to investigate.

    I just deactivated all the plugins now. Then install just the AMP.
    Yet, I had that same error:

    Obviously, issue is not from plugin.

    So I wanted to add, the above error messages comes up only when I use either Standard or Transitional Mode. If I use the reader mode, it doesn’t bring up the issues.

    If I decide to continue using the reader mode, apart from the “website look” what other disadvantage those that mode have?

    The reason why it doesn’t show up in Reader mode is because Reader mode does not yet trigger the validation checks, but it will in the next version.

    Reader mode uses a separate design from your active theme. If you are OK with that then Reader mode is fine to use.

    I’ll try to think of some other way to identify why validation requests are failing.

    I’m okay with that but since you said in next version it will start checking validation, it seems I might to suspend using amp for now.

    I have been thinking about this during the week, but I didn’t come up with any new ideas for what the issue could be.

    Probably the best way for us to figure out what is going on with your site is if you can create a staging version of your site which also has the same problem, and then we could do more debugging without interrupting the normal functioning of your site.
