JetPack works fine before today. But today, all of a sudden, the connection to JetPack is in error. When I disconnect and reconnect, in the “Completing connection Jetpack is finishing up the connection process” page, I only get a “return to your site” button. I remember there should be a button of “Approve” or “Agree” or something like that, but I don’t see it today.

  • Have exactly the same issue. Have been through all the support documentation, uninstalled W3TC, confirmed XML-RPC compliance with /xmlrpc.php?rsd and /xmlrpc.php

Going into the wordpress.com console I get this: “The Jetpack site is inaccessible or returned an error: server error. requested method jetpack.jsonAPI does not exist. [-32601]”

Not sure what to do next…

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Can you both use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your sites?

    1. Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2. Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3. Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4. Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5. Click the “Contact Support” button to send us the debug results privately. It’s best not to post this information on public forums, as it contains private details about your site.

    Thanks!

    Thank you
No debug option as can’t connect (but using /wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack-debugger from other sites – the response is “It looks like your site can not communicate properly with Jetpack”

You should find the Debug link at the bottom of the Jetpack menu even when you’re not connected. The option appears regardless of the connection status.

Excellent, we’ll get back to you soon!

Tried to disconnect and reconnect in WordPress.com. The problem is gone… No idea why.

    Great news @physixfan
No luck with my connection as yet. have server host looking into things and will wait for jetpack support to get back to me if a fix is possible.

    Sorry…update

Completed the connection – did the same thing. Uninstalled jetpack, cleared cache – went to re-installed direct from wordpress.com and it worked.

Just to add to this – I was having the same issues. Deactivated and deleted Jetpack, reinstalled and reactivated – connected without any issues then.
