TheThe Tabs and Accordions Broke and Gone

It’s annoying, isn’t it?

If you’re interested I spent the weekend finding a suitable drop-in replacement for doing the accordion side of things, I’ve shared my findings on my blog (https://squelchdesign.com/web_design_newbury/replacement-thethe-tabs-and-accordions-how-to/) and even created a video tutorial demonstrating how to replace TheThe Tabs and Accordions with an alternative (https://youtu.be/hi9CAcuJ40A).

Just letting other readers know that Matt’s simple fix worked flawlessly for me and covers both vertical and horizontal accordions. Time to implement was under 3 minutes per website.

I’ve also noticed the plugin disappeared. It will be really annoying to replace the tabs with some other, so I’ll put it aside as long as possible :/
Sadly, as Matt Lowe said in an other topic – if there is no update, it has to be changed some day.

If anyone from TheThe is reading this – you could continue to develop the plugin, for payment. $5-$10 maybe? It’s a really useful plugin, the best I saw of its kind. I’d be ready to pay for it, if developed and supported.

Maurixx – I think it is affected – looks like the main page in Italiano has a broken accordion. If you updated WordPress to 3.5.1 then it most surely is broken.

@maurixx – now it seems to work, did you change anything?

btw. what’s the name of your menu-plugin (if you use one, but it looks like a plugin)? I’ve been looking for something like this.

Yes I’ve added the Matt’s quick solution … When I’ll have time I’ll switch to the final solution

About the menu … I used the Broadside 1.0 Theme by ProgressionStudios

Thanks guys, sorry I didn’t see your messages here (seems I forgot to click “Notify me of replies”). You’ll all (hopefully) be excited to hear that I’ve created an alternative plugin that is designed to be compatible with the shortcodes used by TheThe Tabs and Accordions. It supports tabs, accordions and horizontal accordions. It doesn’t support toggles yet but that is planned. It should be as easy as disabling TheThe Tabs and Accordions and installing Squelch Tabs and Accordions Shortcodes. Don’t forget to remove my thethe_fix() from your functions.php too (or you’ll get a warning telling you to remove it)!

You can get the plugin from the plugin repository (search for “squelch” and you’ll see it) or you can get it from the plugin page on www.ads-software.com: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/squelch-tabs-and-accordions-shortcodes/

If you have any problems using the plugin then please leave a comment in the forum and I’ll get back to you asap. I’d appreciate it if you could give it a try and see how you get on.

I have not downloaded it yet – does it also do both horizontal and vertical accordions?

Here’s an example from a page on one of my sites with your “thethefix()” applied… https://www.healinginspirations-wi.com/practices/ Just open one of the horizontal accordions then vertical inside of that.

Hi Randy, yes it does both horizontal and vertical accordions. It doesn’t yet implement alternate animations (I see you’re using the bounce animation) but I’ll be looking at that as soon as I get time. Also, the plugin hasn’t been tested on anything but WP 3.5.1 so far, if you’re not on the latest version then I can’t be sure it will work.

I suggest to anyone upgrading from TheThe Tabs and Accordions that you DISABLE TheThe Tabs and Accordions and then install Squelch Tabs and Accordions Shortcodes. That way, if it doesn’t work out for you, you can easily revert to TheThe Tabs and Accordions while I look at your issue.

OK, I just tested the plugin in 3.4.2 and it doesn’t work there. It works in 3.5 and above ONLY at the moment. I’ll get a fix in for you guys on older versions of WordPress (upgrade already!! ?? asap.
