• They trick people to buy this plugin by saying that you are allowed to add more than one keyword, but they don’t add it to the web pages. They say that google stopped following meta keywords, so why lying and trick people to buy the plugin?!!!!!! This is scam

  • Hi @malakmsah,

    Thanks for your comment.

Meta keywords are different than focus keywords or keyphrases. We understand that the terms may lead to confusion.

Yoast SEO doesn’t support meta keywords as they haven’t had any use for ages. As the web became more commercial, people started spamming this keywords element and search engines began ignoring it. In 2009, Google officially confirmed that they didn’t use them. Read?why we don’t use meta keywords and why you shouldn’t either for further information on the topic.

Our plugin uses focus keywords (or focus keyphrases) instead which are the search terms that you want a page or post to rank for most. Please, refer to this article for more information: https://yoast.com/focus-keyword/ Whereas the free version of Yoast SEO allows you to enter one focus keyphrase, in Yoast SEO Premium you’ll be able to enter up to 5 focus keyphrases.

    Thanks!

1- According to the code they are same.
2- All plugin’s support team answers to other questions, was saying they were they were the same at 2018 ( 9 years after 2009).
    Check here ( https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/yoast-seo-focus-keyword-and-content-analysis-is-not-showing-2/ )

3- The plugin doesn’t clarify what you said clearly before purchasing.

4- All SEO exports all over the world stress using meta keywords every single day including today.

5- The plugin also doesn’t clarify that it doesn’t support languages other than english.

If someone needs the key-phrases as you claim then they should be preparing web content, it’s very stupid to pay for something you already have.

For me it is a complete waste of money!

    Hi @malakmsah,

Thanks for following up. You mentioned different issues and we’ve addressed them below:

    1. Can you please clarify what code you’re referring to?
    2. We had a look at that forum thread but didn’t find any references to meta keywords. Did you mean the Yoast SEO meta box? The Yoast SEO meta box is the box that appears on the post edit screen where you can enter the focus keyphrase, edit your SEO title and meta description and see the SEO and readability analysis. See screenshot.
    3. In the last years we’ve discussed multiple times on our website why meta keywords didn’t bring any benefits to your SEO. We also announced the removal of this feature from our plugin in the changelog.
    4. Do you mean SEO experts? As said, Google hasn’t used meta keywords for years so we don’t really see any point in including them in our plugin.
    5. You can see the list of supported features per language in this help article.
