Thin grey bar and white space

So at the very top of my blog I have this thin, grey horizontal bar. It’s not the grey bar that says “admin|Dashboard|Add New..”, but it’s like a horizontal rule almost, only grey. How do I get rid of this?

Also, there is a a little extra white space between the title of my blog and the header picture below it. How do I remove this extra white space to bring the picture and the title closer? The title is on the same like as the little Search field on the right.
