I cannot get PayPal to work and get the above message on checkout. It worked previously, now it has stopped at this critical time and I am getting no help from WC or PP. I have seen this as an earlier problem in Forum when searching but I found no fix listed. I do hope a kind soul can assist me.

Are you using the default PayPal Standard that comes with WooCommerce or another PayPal plugin altogether? Are you still experiencing the same issue after deactivating all of your plugins (except WooCommerce) and switching to the default Twenty Seventeen theme?

Also, are you seeing the same message when using sandbox mode?

Thanks for your help. I did all of the above and the message was still there. I am not a developer so don’t have a sandbox account. I feel like just giving up, have lost potential pre Xmas sales. Are you able to offer any more suggestions?

Hi @wysewun, if you’re using PayPal standard, can you enable the Debug mode, reproduce the issue, and take a look at the log to see what’s off?

Also, you could try checking the Web Console https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Web_Console/Opening_the_Web_Console , when loading the checkout page, and see if there might be some JavaScript errors.

Posting a screenshot of the error message on the checkout page could be helpful too.

I appreciate your reply. Everything requires at least some developer knowledge and I don’t have it. I have struggled to get a complete commercial site up and running and working perfectly and then this happened. I don’t know how to do those suggested things. I am just sucking it up, pulling the website off and taking my stuff to a market just to recoup the losses. It’s one expense after the other. What a crazy world.

You don’t need to be a developer to setup a sandbox account. You can do this inside your PayPal account. Then set the sandbox tick box in WooCommerce settings, PayPal payment gateway. Then you can try this and that without using real money.

Anyway, to get some help try posting a job here:

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
