• I read another post about this folder name, but did not know if it was malware or the tech just fixed the folder. I read on another search that “wfcache” I was sure i had problems. I am getting malware and mail viruses on my MAC reguarly. Ran several wordfence scans and removed problems that it detected. I just ran scans from securi after wordfence scans and delete and they came up clean. I recently had a brute force attack on a site and my resources are constantly spiking. ALSO RAN CHECKS ON stopbadware.org AND ALL GOOD. But the file was listed in a few places on line as malware, but i did not see a clear removal. I am contstantly receiving spam emails that crawl through the form and captcha.

Thanks for any input regarding that particular file or better email protection…?

  • Hi,

Do you have Falcon or basic cacheing enabled? wfcache is the folder we use to store the cache files (short for wordfence cache). So that folder should be there if you’ve enabled cacheing or have enabled cacheing in the past and is not malware.

The cacheing features we offer would be unrelated to any spam you are receiving. You’d want to check with the captcha plugin and/or contact form developers on that issue.

    Thanks!
    Brian
