• I had been happily running two blogs on one domain using a shared database following these instructions:

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_Multiple_Blogs

Yesterday I tried to create a third blog the same way. It seemed to be working, and I was editing posts in both blog2 and blog3 at the same time.

Now, something got gibbled and the “Blog address (URL)” field seems to have gotten crossed; when I went to log into one, it took me to the other.

I got frustrated trying to correct this and deleted blog3, but that didn’t allow me to get back into blog2 yet.

So blog3 is gone, the folder on my site is even been removed, but I can’t fix the “Blog address (URL)” field for blog2. I tried a php script that I found on the internet, but it reset my main blog URL instead of blog2, even though that was the folder that I tried to run the PHP script in.

Ideas? Can I edit the field directly in my host’s control panel access to the database?

Oh, and I also tried upgrading the WordPress version, hoping that that might allow me into the dashboard but that didn’t work.

And, tried going to directly to wp-login.php in blog2 to log in, and then going directly to blog2 location but it still shows that I’m not logged in.

    Heh, okay, fixed it.

Answer: went into my database from my hosts control panel, searched the database for the term “home”, and a second search for “siteurl” and looked at the entries that had the tableprefix that matched my second blog. Edited these back to the proper location, and blog2 works again.

Now, do I dare try installing blog3 again?

    ??
