• Hello, before I’m starting to install this plugin I’ve a question about how my other plugins, my theme etc. are going to “see” this new feature image possibilities.
When using (recent)post sliders, custom posts, archive (thumbnails), third party plugins which are making use of the feature image, media library, etc, etc.usually can’t cope with modified feature image behavior.
I couldn’t find a word said about this.
    Peace, Eric

    Hi, @blackboxz!

The most themes and plugins will work without problems, because they don’t see images, but URLs. And FIFU saves URLs.

Of course if you have an image editor/optimizer plugin, it cant’t change the image, since that’s external.

    Hello Marcel,
Thank you for your quick response.
How does a third party plugin which uses thumbnails of feature images are going to cope with slider url’s and video url’s ?
You see, I don’t want blind spots (white spaces) within other parts of my site.
I’m using a recent post slider (Revolution Slider), do you think it will show your plugin without problems?
Do you have a compatability list of things that don’t work so I’ve an idea of what to ecpect?
    Greetings, Eric

    Hi, @blackboxz.

The free version works only with images, not videos or sliders. They are Premium features and unfortunately I’m not authorized by the forum rules to talk about Premium plugins here, including Revolution Slider. We can discuss that on FIFU website forum.

There is no a generic answer. WordPress is a jungle with dozens of thousands of plugins, which one with hundreds of features. You can’t expect everything will work with everything, but during my years working with FIFU my mission has been to make FIFU compatible with the most of them or even replace them.

But for my experience, a slider works well with cropped images. And since you can’t edit the external images you should have style issues.

For now I don’t have a compatibility list but I intend to add that soon. Then each time a user faces a compatibility issue with another plugin, I will add a comment about that. Good idea!

Ok, thanks for now Marcel, I guess I’ll just have to try it all…but time, time, time ??
    Greetings, Eric

I dont know how to make a new topic….I have a question about this before I get the premium version. Does it embed internal (your own wordpress hosted) videos?

    Hi @geenow1085.

As I have written above, unfortunately I’m not authorized by the forum rules to talk about the Premium version here. FIFU Premium has its own forum and email support.
