    Hi guys,

Quite a few of you guys have been achieving a website that doesn’t look like a WordPress templates. I thought i would inspire you!

    https://www.shoeawards.com

Mix of a CMS, web gallery and many more features.

Website took me five weeks to develop i thought it would take only two weeks. I had alot of mountains to climb especially with my limited PHP skills so its been learning while i develop and i have learnt more in these 5 weeks then over 6 months.

I’m thinking of creating a blog that specialises in front-end design. Let me know if you guys would be interested ??

It’s been tough but worth it! Hope you guys like it.

Welcome to the world of WordPress.

    Very nice setup.

The ratings of the shoes (up to 5 boxes colored with a light-purple) are hard for me to discern.

    Thanks a lot Michael.

Thanks for the constructive criticism, i agree with you. I’ll fix it up especially when it’s one of the key features of the site.

    Hi Jimmy,

Oh my gosh I love this subject!! :)Very cool idea of how to use WordPress.

I agree with Michael that it is hard to clearly read the ratings.

Personally I find the pattern behind the text very busy, and it makes it a little hard to read… How bout leaving the pattern out of the main area and applying it to the overall background? Something like this? https://www.larissameek.com/ May make it a little “cleaner”?

    Anyway, thats my 2cents worth!!

    Hi Stacy,

Every girl loves their shoes!! ??

You are right about the busy bit. I intended to create the top boxes to show the sexy images instead of pretty boring text but my PHP skills aren’t good enough YET to do that.

I just love the bottom part with the patterns something about them just makes me :)~

Probably gonna replace the text box patterns as solids with no patterns inside.. to bring out the text.. maybe a light gradient to not make it as dull.

She’s got a very nice site Larissa

very impressive! Your theme functions more like a movie theater website than a blog. It seems more like a custom made corporate big company running a massive budget with web designers and the whole 9 rather than a wordpress template. I encourage you to focus more on marketing your template more than the shoes. Maybe making it downloadable or for sale. My vote would be that templates like that are worth big money.

Thanks fish, i was trying to exactly make that impression ??

Very good advice you’ve got a good business sense. I remember reading a chat on MattBrett how good he’s skills are and how someone was willing to pay for his high level of service. It was real eye opener for me.

Loves what he’s doing, people know quality of service, get’s paid well and will always improve his WP skills. That is something i would want to achieve.

    Regarding offering templates,
I’ve never really gotten into the WP template scene, i should explore further or if anyone has advice/tips please message me, thanks Jimmy.
