• OMFG I hate the Gutenberg editor so much. My users are so frustrated with it. Who in their right mind would hide formatting options like “indent” from writers? It has increased my number of support tickets for things that always worked before.

I had to google the answer to find out how to indent a paragraph. That’s how not intuitive it is. A commonly used feature that’s been available to word processor users for decades is suddenly not available? How do you expect users to react?

The response I read from a WordPress forum moderator defending how to indent a paragraph really showed how out of touch WordPress admins are. His paraphrased solution was, “Well just add a CSS rule to make indents. Also, we’re going to remove the classic editor.”

WTF?! Are you kidding me? So you want a banker/lawyer/secretary/RegularJoe who just wants to write a blog article to 1) Learn CSS (which also requires learning HTML) 2) Learn how to edit their WordPress themes? F that! They’ll just blame IT for breaking their editor.

  • Isn’t it your task to solve this problem with the help of “text-indent” via CSS?
Also you can create an extra block for that behavior in case you don’t want to have the text intent everywhere.
