This email type can not be previewed …

I had an error within Kadence Woocommerce Email Designer. When loading the email customizer pages, I had the message: “This email type can not be previewed please try a different order or email type.” and the email preview would not load. This happened for me regardless of what “email Type” I had selected.

I’m leaving this message here for others, as the fix is simple.

When you first open the customizer, the “Preview Order” selection drop-down is blank. All you have to do is select either “Mockup Order”, or an actual order to preview. You can then also choose an email type if you wish. This fixed that issue for me.

As a note to the plugin developer, perhaps you could either make “Mockup order” the default option for the Preview Order drop-down, or, change the error message to be just a little bit more helpful to state:

“This email type can not be previewed please try a different order or email type. You must select a preview order type.”

My mistake, but still, this might help other people who immediately started changing the email type without realizing the blank preview order was the problem. I went through a whole staging server / turn off all plugins / change theme troubleshooting round before I realized the simple fix.
