• The manual install zip folder is 4 MB, I can’t even upload it to WordPress due to server file upload size setting. I’ve been working for hours with tech support to figure out where on our server we change the file size limit. One star for now, since I paid for the pro version and am thus doubly annoyed.

    Try: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/upload-larger-plugins/

Or upload via FTP. (Both of these methods are mentioned in the install guide, in the paragraph beginning “N.B. If your web hosting is configured with a small maximum upload limit”: https://updraftplus.com/support/installing-updraftplus-premium-your-add-on/ ).

Doesn’t your tech support not knowing how to configure their own servers mean that your tech support is bad, rather than meaning that our plugin is bad??

The plugin is larger than most, because to be able to access Dropbox, Amazon S3, Google Drive, etc. etc., it has to carry the libraries for all those services.

Think your 1 star is a little harsh. Like mentioned above, its your hosting that is preventing you from installing as you usually would. Just because the install folder is large in size doesn’t mean its a bloaty plugin.

    I love this plugin.

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I’d rather see it smaller, with perhaps the size increasing options offered as add-ons. In my opinion, the updates are all too frequent as well.
