I think it’s beyond my pay grade. In other words, even though it’s designed to be “user friendly,” it’s still clearly a plugin where some programming experience is helpful… and I’m not a programmer. I don’t even understand some of the terms being used, sad to say. ??

I did install the plugin on my site and it looks like it may do what I want it to do, but I really don’t know how to make it function properly. I played around with it, but no luck.

Maybe a power user can help me? I’m even willing to pay for somebody to build the Notification I need.

    So here’s what I need…

I desperately need the ability to send a message to a user that posts a comment on a specific post. He or she will probably NOT be registered, though it doesn’t matter either way. The Notification could be an on-site push, I suppose, or a pop up box. The notification would have text, possibly an image and probably a link.

Another option would be for the message to be displayed in the comment section, but only visible to the person posting the comment.

In other words, I want to send a private message to someone who comments on a specific post or page.

    1) Is this doable with this plugin?

    2) If doable, I would like to be able to simply clone the Notification for use on other posts. Can this be done? I imagine I’d have to swap the post name/ID, and switch out the message specifics, but that is something I’m pretty sure I could handle.

Anyway, I can tell a lot of creativity and hard work went into this plugin. I’m hoping it will do what I need it to do. Either way, thanks to everyone involved. ??

    Hi,

I think you are trying to use the whole advanced system to do a one, simple thing ??

I’d suggest you get a simple code which adds a message to the comment success message. We can do that for you but it’s not related to the plugin and it would have to be the paid gig.

In other words, the Notification is not designed to display anything to the frontend users (yet). However, this would be a nice idea for an extension.

Anyway, if you are interested in details, drop me a message from the contact form: https://bracketspace.com/contact/

Ah. Damn. After I had gotten my hopes up. ??

    Hi, Kuba!

You might want to make what you just told me clear to those who find the plugin, like I did. To me, “Notification” is just that — something the pops up on the front end. If it said “Email Notification,” it would be immediately clearer, but I realize that’s not a very sexy title. ??

Anyway, I would be very interested in any solution that I can use with multiple posts. In other words, I would need to have a different message for each post I use it on.

As I said, I’d pay to have this created. Obviously, I was just hoping to find a plugin that could do it.

I’m really rather surprised that there is simply no “easy” way to do what I need out there anywhere. I’ve sent many hours looking for something — anything — that would do it. Your plugin was the closest thing I’ve found that *looked* like it might fill the bill.

With all the millions of WP sites out there, you’d think (well, I would think) that many others have a similar need.

So if you think this is something you could do, would it be a script or plugin or what? Further, ballpark, what would it cost?

    Thanks,
    Karl

P.S.: I think there is definitely a hot potential buyer base for this idea of mine among internet marketers, if not a much broader audience. I’m a professional marketer and I know the IM field well. Perhaps we could come up with a *simple* plugin. I have a feeling it would sell like hotcakes…

    Karl,

yeah, this plugin doesn’t support only the email, but also other notifications. Including the front-end notification which is not supported yet. It’s not an easy task, but I think it would be possible to do. Nonetheless, it’s not a good fit for your need in my opinion.

If you’d like me to write that function for you I’d deliver it as a plugin but the cost may vary. Ie. if this would be a simple comment “thank you” message displayed somewhere in the page content that would cost $200. A popup is +$100. Plugin options to control the message in the WordPress admin +$200.

We could cut the price in half if we could put the plugin into our store. You’d get all the updates and unlimited license that case.

Sounds intriguing. Will drop you a line, Kuba, at UnderDEV, if that’s OK.

    Nice looking site, BTW. ??
