• I saw you’ve recognized platforms as differences in success rates and thought If I give you my experience, it may help you track down stuff.
    I have several servers and differing experiences with your excellent plug-in.
    My original backup is on a namecheap shared hosting server
    ~~backed up just fine

    ALL clone attempts are on a brand new clean wp install:

    My first clone attempt was on BLUEHOST
    ~~~All things appeared to import – the code is there but every page is PAGE NOT FOUND except home page – Visual composer does not show up even though it’s there and active
    Uninstalled removed all plugins, stripped it down hard and reinstalled theme and plugins – no help- i’ll have to wipe that out
    My second attempt was on hostgator ~~ server error for backup zip. never would load it.
    My third attempt was JUSTHOST ~~~ the pages all import, code is there, visual composer present but all pages 404 file not found.
    dont know if this was of any use to you -in the off-chance it may, I thought i’d share
    going to try restoring to another directory on same domain now
  • Hey there,
    So when you get the PAGE NOT FOUND or 404 errors, frequently that just means that you need to update your permalinks structure in settings > general > permalinks on the dashboard of your new wordpress install. I was able to have bluehost help me with this once, so contacting their support may be worth a shot.
