    Hi,

I really like WP Cerber, it’s proving an essential free pluign. But I keep getting locked out of my website (mobile only).

This has happened twice. The first time I’m not quite sure what happened but I had to create a new .htaccess file and re-installed the plugin, that worked. I made sure to be careful the second time with the settings that I enabled.

WP Cerber has been working perfectly for a week. But I have just changed my password and pressed ‘log out everywhere’. Once I did that, I can no longer access my website on mobile: instead seeing this page isn’t working, currently unable to handle this request.

The issue disapears when WP cerber is deactivated. I’ve tried flushing cache, did nothing. I’ve checked .htaccess file and it has not been modified. I don’t want to delete the plugin again because I’ll probably have this issue again.

My IP is whitelisted. I can only access the website on mobile during icognito mode. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

Hi! Why do you need to do this: “I had to create a new .htaccess file”? Typically, this file is created by WordPress.

    Hi,

I looked on google for answers and one website stated that if you have a security plugin active and you have been blocked access to your site, then you should check your .htaccess file. I did and indeed, for whatever reason the .htaccess file had been modified. Replacing it with a fresh copy fixed the issue.

This time around, the .htaccess file has not been modified. I waited a few more hours, cleared cache again and my site is now accessible from mobile.

I’m not a technical person so, I don’t understand it myself. The problem is fixed anyway.

Improperly configured and poorly designed caches cause a lot of problems on websites. Always double-check your cache configuration and purge/disable cache while troubleshooting.
