I installed this plugin and create a my-custom-login as per the Settings page.

When browsing to there on Chrome, it presented me with a login screen and I proceeded to log in.

Then it redirected me to a page saying “This has been disabled”. I was completely locked out from accessing the admin console.

Luckily I had Admin credentials still active on Safari so I went to Plugins, deactivated and deleted, reasonably believing this will fix it.

However the same thing is happening “This has been disabled”.

The reason I say it is NOT SAFE is because a plugin such as this should work very hard to protect the Administrator access – you simply can’t have a situation where the Admin is being locked out because of faulty plugin or untested use-cases. Likewise when uninstalled it should gracefully restore things instead of leaving the admin locked out.

Now to waste time googling, reading forums, to find out how to get back into my WordPress.

I found that the delete didn’t actually delete. I had to log in to shell and delete the directory from plugins. Now functionality is back.

I’m sure this plugin has worked successfully on previous WordPress installations and users, but for some reason it will not work either with this version or this setup, and my point stands that it needs to be very careful when playing with the admin pathway in.

I have been using this plugin for a long time now with No issues. When setting up a plugin that requires new URL formatting, you have to make sure you clear caches like Cloudflare, W3 Total Cache, etc, and of course your own browser. Also a conflict with another security plugin might be an issue with a setting.

I can only speak for my own experience, I am running the latests version of WordPress, PHP 7.1
