• This is the plugin’s description:

An easy-to-use plugin that allows you to alter strings on your site without editing WordPress core, or plugin code. Simply enter the current string, and what you want to replace it with and the plugin will automatically do the rest!

I tried it with this string: <div id=”wrapper”> that I want to replace with: <div class=”wrapper”>, but nothing happened.

It says in the description that I only need to enter the current string, and what you want to replace it with and the plugin will automatically do the rest. But it doesn’t work that way.

    Hi,

Sorry that this didn’t work out for you. The plugin is designed to allow you to modify strings that are marked for translation (as per the 1st item in the FAQ: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/say-what/#faq), not just arbitrary HTML.

We’ll review your feedback though and see if we can clarify things a little to avoid anyone else suffering the same misunderstanding.

Why would you hide it in the FAQ? That’s asking for misunderstandings and lower ratings.

If you don’t write it in the description, the description is misleading because the plugin doesn’t do what it promises. It’s an important thing that should be the first thing in the description. It’s not that hard.

Any ambiguity was not deliberate. As I said we would, we’ve now reviewed the description and updated so it’s hopefully a little clearer.

I noticed that you changed the intro text, so I adjusted my rating. Thanks.
