This plugin has given me a major headache
-
I used this plugin in a client site last year. The client updated the plugins, and had a broken login system. Panic. I had to spend weekend time searching for the error, which turned out to be this plugin, that had removed functionality and had other breaking changes. Now we’re back with the older version, and will sooner or later have to spend time and money to migrate away from a relatively new, working system. Our customer would gladly have paid for an update with an automated upgrade path, but they are not very positive after this experience.
To the developer: A proper way to handle this may have been to release the new version as a separate, free plugin with upgrades, or as a separate premium plugin. Look at ACF, where the developer has been so mindful even of his free customers that he has maintained the older version in parallell with the Premium until a new version was 100% non-breaking.
