I have this plugin installed and Sportspress Pro v1.9.10

In Sportspress, there is an option to add stuff like Players and Calendars to Posts directly from the text-editor. In the little pop-up wizard they provide, the first drop-down field is ALWAYS missing when I this plugin is activated.

This is the select that’s missing:

    <select name=”id” id=”id” class=”postform “>

Any way to prevent this from happening?

    Hi naptash,

I haven’t used Sportspress before does it cause the same issue with the non-pro version? if so I can test to see what’s happening.

I just tested it and yes, the issue still happens with the non-pro version.
Thanks for looking into this ??

I’ve just tried with the non-pro version with role-based-help-notes active and adding an event to a post has ‘Select Event:’ working ok can you give me the exact step that you see the issue.

oh and also are you at role-based-help-notes version 1.6.2.2 ? .. just to check ??

    Thread Starter naptash

    (@naptash)

    Definitely using 1.6.2.2.

    Steps I used are:

    1. Go to any post or page
    2. Choose the SportsPress icon
    3. Go to Event > Calendar

The wizard that pops up should have a drop-down.

And just to make sure, I deactivated all of the other plugins, tested it again and I’m still getting the problem.

it will be something wrong with java.

Can you try to install a fresh role-base-help-notes copy of 1.6.2.2 just to check its not corrupt. If your happy to then manually revert the Version number of the local plugin file (role-based-help-notes.php) from 1.6.2.2 to 1.6.2.1 then after 15mins or so WordPress will prompt you through the normal auto update path and install a clean version of 1.6.2.2, this way no settings will be deleted. Otherwise don’t worry just delete the plugin and re-install you’ll just need to check over your setting options again.

If that doesn’t solve the issue then using chrome go through the steps to create the issue while editing the page/post open the Chrome developer tools console to see what errors are logged. To open the Chrome console open the menu…. [More Tools]..[Developer Tools] and select the “Console” tab send me anything that shows up there.

Finally few more questions to see if I can generate the issue..

What version of WordPress are you using?
Are you using non-pro SportsPress version 1.9.10?
Which WordPress install are you using multi-site or the single site install?

Took a day for it to realize the plugin was out of date but oh well. I installed the latest version and it’s still not working.

Literally nothing shows up in the Console tab (both with pro and non-pro versions).

    WordPress 4.3.1
Pro version 1.9.10 but still happens in non-pro version
    No multisite enabled

Ok thanks I’ve got a single site running and now can see the error. I’ve got something to work on now ??

I won’t be able to look at it for a day or two.. I’ll keep you posted.

Yes found the problem so I’ll test for a day or so and upload to the WP repository.
