• This plugin from ‘Automatic company’ isn’t free – most of its features are not only paid for, but also very expensive. However, if you have a blog or a site with a few pages and articles, you may find it useful, as long as you don’t try to monetize it with ads or affiliate links. In that case, you won’t have access to any functions such as statistics, even if you only have a few visitors. Not satisfied with making money out of our statistics, ‘Automatic’ has decided to make us pay full price for a few visitors… And if you decide to pay for each and every feature, you could be broke in a matter of weeks… In short, this plugin is to be avoided and I’m uninstalling it right now!

  • Hey @rapidozack, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.

I can understand your frustration that not all of Jetpack features are included in the free plan.

Many of Jetpack’s most popular features are included in the free plan—for example, unlimited Jetpack Social shares, Jetpack AI Assistant, image galleries, carousels, and slideshow blocks, and our Jetpack Content Delivery Network. We at Automattic have invested a lot of time building new features into Jetpack’s premium offerings, and we feel that these provide great value for users who are looking to expand upon the free plan.

As for Jetpack Stats,?we still offer free plans to personal, non-commercial sites?that aren’t aiming to make a profit. And, for commercial sites that are trying to make profits, we offer a paid plan with?flexible billing based on the amount of traffic the site receives, along with access to advanced features and priority support.

We’re sorry to see you go, but if you ever decide to try again with Jetpack we’ll be happy to help you find the best plan for your specific website goals.

Thank you for your reply with its arguments that are completely motivated by profit. Sadly, you have forgotten that your company is based on the hard work of a community of contributors and small publishers. As you must surely know, these small editors have no way of sustaining their personal sites or blogs other than through advertising or affiliate links, and you wrongly regard them as commercial enterprises with thousands or even millions of visitors per month. In fact, you’re just following the dark agenda of BIG TECH, whose only aim is to kill off small Internet creators. No thanks !

    Hi @rapidozack ,

Thank you again for your feedback.

Sadly, you have forgotten that your company is based on the hard work of a community of contributors and small publishers.

We appreciate your passion for the open web and the importance of small creators. We’re committed to supporting these communities and ensuring that our services remain accessible and affordable for everyone.

We’re also constantly iterating on our offers based on the feedback we get from users like you.

That said, if you could share your site URL with us, we’d be glad to do a manual review to see if your site was classified properly.

If you want your site to remain private, you can reach out to us here: https://jetpack.com/contact-support/

Please note that, as my colleague outlined above, we’ve designed our offers to differentiate between different tiers of commercial sites.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always here to help.

    Best regards,

It’s good that I checked the box to be notified by email of replies, as it looks like yours has been disappeared from my review. Your suggestion looks good, but Google Analytics works well enough, too, for my needs. Thank you!

@tamirat22 “Please note that,?as my colleague outlined above, we’ve designed our offers to differentiate between different tiers of commercial sites.” Really? So a site that’s never actually earned a DIME, but has one promo banner for its hosting company and a handful of affiliate book links is supposed to be a “commercial” site AT ALL? I don’t think so. The constant moving of formerly free features to “premium” features, without the addition of SIGNIFICANT value to those features (not arguing about the addition of wholly NEW features, mind you) justifies premium prices? That’s the argument, and we’re just saying that for us, it absolutely does NOT.

    Hi @hollyjahangiri,

So a site that’s never actually earned a DIME, but has one promo banner for its hosting company and a handful of affiliate book links is supposed to be a “commercial” site AT ALL??

The system (and the humans behind it) can’t really determine whether a site is making actual revenue out of the instances placed within the site. If your site generates zero money or thousands per day, it’s irrelevant to the system, as it could not know about that. What it can see are only the commercial-related inputs.

We see how that could upset users, and we respect your position on this. Google Analytics seems indeed a good alternative for you, so we’re genuinely glad that you can use it.

That said, we would be also happy to know that you can keep using the other Jetpack free features if you find them useful – it’d be a pity if you stop using what you still like because you’re disappointed about a feature you’re not willing to pay for ?? I hope you see what I mean here!

Actually, what I’m disappointed in is JetPack moving formerly free features to premium features every time we turn around. NOT to the introduction of new premium features I may or may not be willing to pay for.

For comparison’s sake, I get premium hosting and top-notch support for less than JetPack Stats would cost.
