This plugin modifies the local site’s RSS feed, why?

This plugin is adding featured images to my RSS feed (mysite.com/feed) and there doesn’t seem to be an intuitive way to disable this functionality. It also seems to go beyond the claim that this is a simple plugin meant to display RSS feeds if it also alters the core RSS feed.
