    Hi @anevins,

This post has been held for moderation by our automated system and will be manually reviewed by a moderator.

You have flagged our account temporarily with the reasons that we have asked for the credentials on the public forum (we haven’t done it actually) (Ref Link) which means that our post will need to be approved and @ notifications from us will not work.

It’s now 1 month & 1 week & very irritating that since one month each post & replies held for moderation by an automated system and manually reviewed by a moderator.

Can you please help us to unflag our account so we can help out the users smoothly? We are here since 5 years & our account is genuine so request you to do the needful.

    Thanks & Regards,

You have flagged our account temporarily with the reasons that we have asked for the credentials on the public forum (we haven’t done it actually)

You asked to receive credentials on the public forum, “We need to test it from the backend of the store to find the exact culprit.” – https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/agree-with-other-recent-review-deletes-settings-on-a-regular-basis/#post-11582520

It doesn’t matter where you intended those credentials to be sent, you asked for them on the public forum, which is a violation of the guidelines: https://www.ads-software.com/support/guidelines/#the-bad-stuff

Do not ask for any kind of access in order to provide support, not even for plugins or themes.

    Hi James,

Thank you for the quick response!

Only a few users were facing that issue & we were unable to replicate it from our end so for the debugging process we explained the scenario. We haven’t asked them to share the access on a public forum, instead of that, we suggested them to contact us directly.

As an author sometimes, we are not able to resolve or give the solution on a public forum because issue verification needs some more clarity/information on the actual issue. Since 5 years, we never asked anyone to share the backend access in public forums & never flagged for the violation of the guidelines.

We are aware of the policies & guidelines of this forum. In fact, if you see this post (we have pinned it on the support page of our plugin), we have clearly mentioned that “Do NOT share login or password details with us. This is a public forum.

Request you to unflag our account so we can support the users smoothly & in the future we’ll try to avoid using the kind of statement which falls into the violation of the guidelines

    Thanks & Regards,

You asked them, on the public forum, to contact you and give you access to their site’s backend. In other words, you asked, on the public forum, for their credentials.

Again, it doesn’t matter where you intended for the credentials to be sent, it matters where you asked for them.

Instead, ask them to contact you elsewhere first, then you’re welcome to ask for whatever you want when you’re outside of the support forums here.

    Hi James,

It is now a debatable matter. Now instead of going into a long debate, can you please let us know how we can unflag our account? Or how can you help us with this?

Account was temporarily flagged so when we can expect it to be unflagged?

Considering that your current approach is to argue against the established guidelines that you violated and we have been tasked to enforce, it is incredibly unlikely that the flag will be removed any time soon.

Overall, flags are removed at our discretion, and currently I don’t see any overwhelming reason to do so now.

Please also be aware of this Plugin guideline: https://developer.www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-org/detailed-plugin-guidelines/#9-developers-and-their-plugins-must-not-do-anything-illegal-dishonest-or-morally-offensive

Sorry James but you misinterpreted the response,

We have stepped down positively after your response that instead of stretching it let’s conclude it & in our previous response we were given the surety that we’ll take care of this in the future as it’s our first time in 5 years.

As an author, we are feeling helpless in this matter because you guys have the authority to do so now we have no option instead of waiting & hoping for the best ??

Thank you so much for your time!

    No, it’s not.

As an author, we are feeling helpless in this matter because you guys have the authority to do so now we have no option instead of waiting & hoping for the best ??

I’m sorry you feel that way but this is done to protect users as well as yourself. You’re a plugin developer and a) that ask is not permitted and b) it’s your liability too. While you may dismiss that real risk, it’s there even if you think it does not matter.

I’m closing this topic. There is no “Meta forum” to discuss moderation and this topic is not really for discussion in the forums.

If anyone wishes to discuss their moderation then the correct place is the #forums channel in the WordPress Slack.

In this case, don’t. You’ve already gotten a response and re-hashing it will not change anything.
