• I am a longtime user of Series, since before it was acquired by PublishPress. I was really hopeful that the product would continue to improve now that it was being developed by a larger team.
Unfortunately, the plugin caused a problem with resource consumption on my server that would eventually crash the server. The problem was traced back to some kind of negative interaction between WordFence and Series, but despite months of correspondence with PublishPress, the problem remains for me.
I am sure that the PublishPress dev team worked hard to try to fix the issues that were affecting my site, despite not coming to a positive outcome in my case.
I am very sad to have to lose this plugin, but my site needs a way to organize a series, and this one just won’t work for me anymore.
If you’re not using WordFence on your site, it may be fine. I encourage you to try it out as it worked well for me for many years.

This is the same plugin it has always been.

But there is an obscure issue that is unique to Doug’s site. I should note that the issue is between Wordfence (another plugin) and Series, not WordPress and Series.

We’ve worked with @macadk for many, many hours on trying to track down this issue.

I think the best we can do is take a deep breath and say, “Good luck Doug”.

Thanks, Steve. I appreciate everything you did to try to solve the problem. ??

I am not sure if the issue was with Series (speaking as an outsider here). But, my hosting provider absolutely will NOT allow Wordfence on its servers. This plugin caused real performance issues with their servers causing them to ban it outright.
